Why I Coach Entrepreneurs

entrepreneur life coach and business coach minneapolis

If you read my blog post covering the entirety of my entrepreneurial journey, then you’ll know why I became a life coach. But I wanted to further dig down and tell you all why I chose to work with entrepreneurs specifically.

The answer is actually pretty simple: They are who I can help the most.

There are a couple reasons why this is true. Most often, business coaches provide the accountability and the technical expertise to move entrepreneurs forward. They have skills and knowledge in the areas their clients are lacking, and they’re there to help them get things accomplished

And yes, it’s true I provide accountability for my clients. I’m also incredibly skilled and experienced in the technical side as well. I worked as a writer and editor for years, a digital marketer for even longer, have trained in multiple social media platforms and search engine optimization, and know the psychology behind what makes people buy, and more importantly, buy from you.

But I chose entrepreneurs more than just as a way to utilize the skills I’ve honed over my career. I chose working with them because I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to have a dream, to what to design my life based off my unique strengths and values, to take a teensy half idea and turn it into a reality.

And I know what it’s like to live in the mind of someone doing that all. I know the feelings of self doubt and fear. I know what it’s like to be afraid to introduce yourself as an entrepreneur, or to feel like a fraud. I know what it’s like to hide behind excuses, lack the self confidence, and find my value in others’ opinions.

Most importantly, I know the tools, exercises, and mindsets to push through all that and do it anyway.  I am constantly learning and reading and studying new and better ways to help my clients truly feel like they’re owning it in their businesses and like they deserve the title of “entrepreneur” or “small business owner”.

I know that the best sales funnel in the world won’t help you if you introduce yourself as someone who is “starting a social media business” instead of as a “social media manager”.

I know that it doesn’t matter if you have all the knowledge on a topic in the world if you’re afraid to host a workshop and teach it to others.

I know that you can have thousands of followers on Instagram and still be afraid to tell your friends from college that you quit your job to start your own business.

I know that you can be making bank and still have your family members not take you and your business seriously.

I know how to help you push past the fear zone. And I’m willing to stand next to you every step of the way.
